The Development Course of Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University

The Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University (hereinafter referred to as the China Youth Association) is a non-profit organization under the guidance of the Youth League Committee of Sun Yat-sen University. It is composed of the Young Volunteers Association of East Campus, North Campus, Zhuhai Campus and South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. Every year, the number of members of the Youth Federation in the fourth school district of CUHK reaches 640. After several years of development, the Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University has developed into one of the largest and most influential associations in Sun Yat-sen University, and has reached cooperation intentions with social organizations and institutions such as Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Lions Club of Guangdong, Guangzhou Youth Association, Haizhu Youth Association and Zhuhai Youth League Committee. Up to now, the association has registered nearly 5,000 volunteers, provided nearly 10,000 public welfare posts and served nearly 50,000 people.

For a long time, China Daqing Association has been playing the role of a public welfare pilot in colleges and universities. In addition to volunteering wholeheartedly, the Youth Federation also actively leads all teachers and students to participate in public welfare and altruism. The association has been committed to providing various public welfare opportunities for college students' volunteers, so that college students can happily participate in volunteer service and give back to the society after studying. As the students commented: "The China Youth League has given us a platform to let our college students have the opportunity to participate in public welfare, experience the touch of life and accumulate the positive energy of life!"

Adhering to the purpose of "serving the campus and repaying the society", China Daqing Association has carried out a series of public welfare activities, covering all aspects of public welfare undertakings, including on-site volunteer service for large-scale social activities (such as the Youth Federation providing and organizing high-quality on-site volunteer service for the Eighth National University Games, the 20 10 Guangzhou Asian Games and other large-scale social activities), short-term teaching in summer, long-term voluntary teaching, caring for orphans, and visiting elderly people living alone.

The Young Volunteers Association of Sun Yat-sen University has made great achievements in promoting the spirit of volunteers, enriching campus culture and providing voluntary services for the society. Not only won the honorary title of "Excellent Student Group of Sun Yat-sen University" every year, but also won the "Guangdong Volunteer Service Group (Gold Award)" in 2009, and Dandelion Action Teaching Project was awarded as an excellent volunteer service project in Guangzhou in 2009. In the same year, Dandelion Heyuan Teaching Team won the second prize in the summer social practice public welfare activities of Sun Yat-sen University, and Chaozhou Teaching Team and Zhaoqing Teaching Team also won the third prize respectively.
