Western (Chongqing) Science City is located in the western valley of Chongqing central city.

The planned area of West (Chongqing) Science City is 1 198 square kilometers, involving five districts: Beibei, Shapingba, Jiulongpo, Jiangjin and Bishan. Among them, Zhiguan Park in Chongqing High-tech Zone is the core area of West (Chongqing) Science City. In the West (Chongqing) Science City, an urban transportation system with north-south access and east-west access is also taking shape.
