The Historical Evolution of Baoding First Hospital

1886, American Presbyterian Church sent missionaries Luo, Hou Dezuo (female), Lu Chongde and Hingis to Baoding, bought 30 mu of land in Zhangzhuang Village, Beiguan, and built hospitals and churches. They widely accept Christians, abstain from porridge and pay bills, set up churches and give alms, publicize their fate, and practice medicine and run hospitals to transport spiritual opium.

1900, the anti-imperialist patriotic boxer movement broke out. At the height of the movement, eight churches and hospitals in Beiguan were burned down, and Luo, Hou Dezuo (female) and Hinge were killed at the same time. Lu Chongde was not in Baoding, but he was spared from death.

At that time, Baoding Chamber of Commerce guarded the city wall and bribed Lu Chongde and the invading army. In the early days, the hospital was small, with only a three-story building, 30 beds and a dozen medical staff. 1951April, under the leadership of the Health Department of Hebei Provincial People's Government, the hospital board was reorganized. On July 20th, 1952, the Health Department of Hebei Province took over the hospital and was renamed the Sixth People's Hospital of Hebei Province with the approval of the Central People's Government. Under the leadership of the Health Department of the provincial government, it has established and improved party, league and trade union organizations, with 120 beds and more than 80 staff. 1953 April 15, renamed the Second People's Hospital of Hebei Province.

On June 1954 and 10, with the approval of Hebei provincial government and governor Lin Tie, it was changed to Baoding First People's Hospital, with Xu Xiaoqing as its president.

1July, 959, because most of the original medical staff and equipment in this hospital were transferred to Beiguan to build another hospital, they were transferred from rehabilitation hospital 120 to enrich the hospital with medical, administrative and logistics personnel and equipment, with Zhang Zhicheng as the president. 1September 1986, Wang Shikui was transferred to the post of Director of Health Bureau, and An Guoxing was appointed as the Dean. He carried out the responsibility system of managing principals by objectives during their term of office, formulated the task objectives and benefit indicators of all subjects, and carried out the responsibility system of double-percentage assessment of objectives, tasks and spiritual civilization, rationalizing the relations among the party, government and industry.

On April 3rd, 1990, the Party Committee of Health Bureau issued a notice on the appointment of six comrades, including Cui and Gou. In August of the same year, Liu was appointed vice president of the First Hospital of the City, and Xu Yuhua was appointed deputy secretary of the Party Committee. 1June, 1994, Cui, secretary of the municipal party Committee, died of illness.
