When is the Zhoukou Lotus Festival?

The specific date of Zhoukou Lotus Festival, also known as Huaiyang Lotus Festival, is not fixed every year. It usually opens in early July and lasts until the end of August.

On July 22, 2007, the first "China Huaiyang Longhu Lotus Appreciation Tourism Month" was officially launched. The purpose of the event is to make full use of the advantages of Huaiyang's ten thousand acres of lotus scenery in Longhu Lake, to showcase Huaiyang's beautiful scenery, harmonious image, economic and trade environment and development potential, and to launch a grand promotion theme of "Huaiyang has beautiful scenery in China, and Longhu Lotus ranks first in the Central Plains". The "Huaiyang Two-Day Tour" tourist route further improves Huaiyang's tourism quality, enhances Huaiyang's popularity and market attractiveness, and promotes the sound and rapid development of Huaiyang's economy. The event is hosted by Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau and Zhoukou Municipal People's Government, and hosted by Huaiyang County People's Government, Zhoukou Municipal Tourism Bureau and Zhoukou Daily. Since then, the annual Huaiyang Lotus Festival has become the third largest flower tourism festival brand in Henan Province after Luoyang Peony and Kaifeng Chrysanthemum.
