Preparations for the 7th Sichuan Disabled Games

The preparations for this Paralympic Games have been highly valued by the provincial party committee and government and strongly supported by relevant provincial departments from the very beginning. The provincial government listed the Seventh Paralympic Games as an important task this year. The leaders of the provincial government listened to the preparatory work report many times and coordinated to solve related problems. As the host city, we have made every effort to advance the preparatory work in accordance with the general requirements of the provincial party committee and government and the principle of "simultaneous preparation and equally wonderful" for the provincial games and Paralympics. At present, the preparatory work is progressing smoothly.

(1) organizational guarantee: In order to ensure the effective promotion of the preparations for the Paralympic Games, the Preparatory Committee for the Paralympic Games was established in early 2008, with the main leaders of the municipal government as the director and 16 working departments under the Preparatory Committee, and the preparatory work systems such as decision-making mechanism, promotion mechanism, interaction mechanism, information feedback mechanism and incentive mechanism were established and improved. At present, the preparatory work is being carried out in an intense and orderly manner.

(II) Venue construction: According to the idea of "overall venue construction and resource sharing * * *", the task of "1 center, 6 municipal venues, 6 districts, counties and unit venues" was determined. At present, the main project of Nanhu Sports Center has been completed and accepted, and six stadiums, districts, counties and unit venues are under construction, which can ensure that they are completed and put into use before the end of May. At the same time, efforts should be made to strengthen the construction of special facilities for the disabled. All competition venues have built barrier-free access for the disabled, and Nanhu Sports Center has planned and configured special seats and sanitary facilities for the disabled to meet the special needs of the disabled in competition and watching games.

(III) Preparations for the Games: The general outline of the competition rules for the 7th Sichuan Disabled Games was formulated, and the sports venues for undertaking the projects were initially arranged. The preparations for the competition, such as disability category, entry method and reward method, are being implemented. The first athlete registration was completed in early March this year. More than 4,000 athletes, coaches and referees from 22 teams and 2 1 delegation signed up for the Games. We will also organize the second and third registration in April and June this year, and finally determine the name of the delegation.

(4) News propaganda: Adhere to the combination of media propaganda and social propaganda, set up columns for the Paralympic Games in Zigong Daily, Zigong Evening News, Zigong TV Station and Zigong Channel of Sichuan News Network, open the official website of the Paralympic Games, set up fixed slogans and outdoor advertisements, and hold mass cultural and sports publicity activities for the Paralympic Games. The atmosphere of the whole society's concern, support and participation in the Paralympic Games is increasingly strong. At the same time, the emblem, anthem, mascot, poster and theme slogan are widely collected for the society, and the plan has been approved by the organizing Committee and officially put into use.

(5) Other preparatory work: According to the requirements of careful planning and deployment, do other preparatory work well. At present, the outline of the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games has been initially determined, and the detailed design of the scheme is under way; Work plans for security, transportation and communication, and medical and health care have been worked out. Comprehensive management of urban and rural environment has been implemented, and quality improvement training has been carried out for window units and personnel such as scenic spots, hotels and public transport. Strive to create a beautiful, civilized and orderly urban environment for the Paralympic Games.
