Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics was founded.

Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (hereinafter referred to as China Southern Airlines) was founded in June 1952, located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. Following Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (1952~ 1956) and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (1956~ 1993), it was renamed Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on 1993. 1978, the school was identified as a national key university by the State Council; 198 1 was approved by the State Council as the first batch of units with the right to confer doctoral and master's degrees; 1996, entering the national "2 1 1 project" key construction ranks; In 2000, the Graduate School was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
