New Chinese Curriculum Standard Requirements for Grades 1 and 2

1. Like to learn Chinese characters and have the desire to take the initiative to read.

2. Recognize 1,600-1,800 commonly used Chinese characters, of which 800-1,000 can be written.

3. Master the basic strokes of Chinese characters and commonly used radicals: be able to write with a hard pen according to the rules of stroke order, paying attention to the frame structure.

Feel the physical beauty of Chinese characters for the first time.

4. Develop correct writing posture and good writing habits, and write in a standardized, upright and neat way.

5. Learn Chinese Pinyin. Able to accurately read initial consonants, finals, tones and overall recognition of syllables. Able to spell syllables accurately and write initial consonants, finals and syllables correctly

. Recognize capital letters and memorize the "Chinese Pinyin Alphabet".

6. Ability to recognize and read Chinese characters with the help of Chinese Pinyin. Can use phonetic sequence and radical checking to look up words in a dictionary and learn to read independently.
