(1) The organizational attributes of the Young Pioneers are not clearly reflected at the grassroots level, and their work is similar to that of other organizations and departments. Young Pioneers' activities are often carried out in moral education activities in schools or other departments. Young pioneers are in schools and clubs.

The status of community and society is not obvious. In the past, school activities were basically carried out by young pioneers, and the publicity column of the school was also arranged by young pioneers. The activities of the Young Pioneers have played an important role in the school. At present, slogans, windows and national flags of many local campuses are managed by other departments, and activities other than team meetings are led by other departments with the cooperation of the Young Pioneers Brigade. Young pioneers lack independent activities. The head teacher and class management have been continuously strengthened. In the minds of teachers and students, the concepts of school and class are increasingly prominent, while the concepts of Young Pioneers Brigade and Squadron are gradually diluted.

(2) The Young Pioneers' work is not attractive and influential to children, and its role in children's growth is declining.

The organizational role of the Young Pioneers' squadrons is not prominent, and the team organization is not active enough. Young Pioneers' status in children's minds has weakened. The survey shows that the young pioneers' sense of honor and sacredness is weakened, and the young pioneers' brand on the growth of children is not deep. Some young pioneers said that in the past, children had to take off their red scarves first even if they were fighting. Red scarves have a high position in their minds, but this is not the case now. During the visit, we found that some young pioneers couldn't remember anything exciting in the Young Pioneers, some young pioneers couldn't tell what activities they had participated in in the past year, some young pioneers didn't know that the head teacher was the Young Pioneers' counselor, and some young pioneers couldn't tell the time of the team meeting. During the interview, some parents and old comrades reported that the activities of the Young Pioneers in the school were not as eye-catching as before.

(3) The influence and coverage of Young Pioneers' work and activities on all children are not enough, and there are blank areas and weak links.

There are obvious differences and imbalances between schools and communities, between cities and rural areas, between developed and underdeveloped areas, and between key schools and non-key schools. Young pioneers are not well organized and active enough in some fields. This is particularly evident in private schools, schools for children of migrant workers, rural schools and middle schools. Some private schools and schools for children of migrant workers have not established Young Pioneers' organizations, or although they have established Young Pioneers' organizations as required, they do not attach importance to the work of Young Pioneers. In many rural schools, the Young Pioneers' organizations exist in name only, and the Young Pioneers' activities have not been carried out for a long time. The main problems of young pioneers in junior high school are as follows: First, young pioneers in junior high school usually quit the team in the first semester of junior high school or the second semester of junior high school. Young pioneers have been educated for a short time and it is difficult to play their educational role. Second, there are few activities of the Young Pioneers in junior high school, and the awareness of the players is weak. Many children are unwilling to wear red scarves. Third, the young pioneers squadron counselors are not equipped or become a mere formality. The work of Young Pioneers in most urban communities has not been carried out. These situations have caused a considerable number of children to drift away from the organizational coverage and work influence of the Young Pioneers. In addition, the work and activities of some grassroots Young Pioneers are not extensive, forming a pattern of taking care of both sides, that is, they are often only for the "elite groups" and "vulnerable groups" among children, and all children are unable to participate.

(d) Young Pioneers' work and activities are not frequent and obvious enough, and their importance in children's study and life is reduced.

The time for young pioneers to carry out their own activities is shortening, and the distinctive imprint of young pioneers' activities is decreasing. For example, many young pioneers can't tell which are young pioneers' activities and which are not.
