Brief introduction of Wenchang tower in Qiyang

Qiyang Wenchang Tower, located in the east of Qiyang County, on the bank of Xiangjiang River, on the west side of Qiyang Normal School and Qiyang No.1 Middle School; Across the river from the famous forest of steles in Wuxi. It was built in the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1573) and was rebuilt in the eleventh year of Qianlong (1746). The tower is named after the meaning of "cultural prosperity", and Wenchang Academy was built because of the tower. Because the pagoda stands on the "Wanjuanyan" high hill near the water, it inherits the Millennium cultural context of Qi and New China, and is outstanding. Since ancient times, it has the reputation of "the support of articles and the gathering place of writing style", and is regarded as the guardian of local talents by local people with strong writing style. It is a famous historical relic in southern Hunan. 1983 is listed as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.
