When is the best time to play in Yancheng Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve?

The best time for Yancheng Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve: distinct seasons, mild climate, abundant rain, dense river network, rich products and land of plenty of fish and rice.

Walking across the river, have you ever heard that a girl once came here and a group of red-crowned cranes flew gently? This is a popular song a few years ago, which describes the story of a girl who died to save the red-crowned crane. When I first heard this song, I wanted to know where the story happened. Finally, I saw in the media that this happened in Yancheng, the "hometown" of the red-crowned crane. There are 450,000 hectares of nature reserves here, and there are about 400 species of birds, especially the wild red-crowned cranes, which account for nearly half of the world, come here for the winter every year. I long for one day, I can "fly" to this place where touching stories have happened and see beautiful red-crowned cranes.

Yancheng Red-crowned Crane Reserve is called "Yancheng National Rare Bird Reserve in Jiangsu Province" (hereinafter referred to as the Reserve), which is the only large crane nature reserve in China's environmental protection system. It is the world's largest wintering base for red-crowned cranes; It is also the largest beach wetland nature reserve in Asia. Approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the nature reserve was established on February 5, 2003 and in the autumn of 2003. It is the second hometown of the national first-class rare bird red-crowned crane. 1September 1992, 65438 was listed as a national nature reserve in the State Council, and1October, 65438 was accepted as a member of the world's "Man and Biosphere" protection network by UNESCO.

Red-crowned crane nature reserve is an ideal place for birds to live. There are natural vegetation covered with reeds, rich and diverse beach creatures, loneliness and emptiness. This is the first coastal nature reserve in China. In the golden autumn of 65438+ 10 every year, flocks of red-crowned cranes fly here from Zhalong Nature Reserve in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province for the winter, with more than 1000 at most and more than 300 at the youngest. It is the largest gathering place of wild red-crowned cranes in the world, with thousands of geese and ducks.

The reserve is located in the central coastal area of Jiangsu Province, with the coastal beaches of Sheyang County as the core, including some beaches of Xiangshui County, Binhai County, Dafeng City and Dongtai City. The coastline is 582 kilometers long, with a total area of nearly 500,000 hectares, and the core area is 1.73 million hectares.

The beach where the reserve is located is influenced by the maritime climate, with mild climate, abundant rainfall and four distinct seasons. On the beach, tributaries of the river crisscross into a net, a swamp. In ancient times, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River entered the sea at the north and south ends of the reserve for a long time, forming more than 200,000 hectares of sandbars. The unique natural geographical environment contains many kinds of wild animals and plants such as Cyperaceae and Gramineae. There are dense reeds and green grass in this area. The whole nature reserve floats on the Yellow Sea like a green blanket, and is praised by world ecologists as the "kingdom" of birds and a model of ecological protection.

The bird species identified in the nature reserve account for 33% of the existing bird species in China. Among them, 9 species are under national first-class protection and 33 species are under second-class protection. There are 160 species in the reserve among the 227 species of protected blackbirds stipulated in the Sino-Japanese Agreement on the Protection of Migratory Birds.

Among all kinds of rare birds in nature reserves, the crane is the most famous. Red-crowned crane is a rare bird in the world, belonging to Crane Order and Crane Family. It is listed as the first-class protected birds in China. Its young birds are precocious, with white adult body feathers and black tail feathers, and the exposed head is reddish, mostly with feathered eyes, small hind toes and high position, which are not on the same plane as the other three toes. Its trachea is very long, it will penetrate the sternum and bend many times. This structure is rare in birds. China people have loved red-crowned cranes since ancient times because of their figure and beauty. It is elegant and free and easy, known as the "crane" and regarded as a symbol of good luck, longevity and loyalty. Ordinary painters have painted a picture of the longevity of pine cranes. In fact, cranes do not inhabit pine trees, but often walk in shallow swamps or fields, pecking at fish, shrimp, young grass, grains and so on.

Every year, in the late June of 65438+ 10, the red-crowned crane flies here from the north and begins to live through the winter for about 140 days. Since the establishment of the reserve, the number of red-crowned cranes wintering in the reserve has increased year by year, from 288 at the time of establishment to nearly 900 at present, accounting for about 70% of the wild red-crowned cranes in the world. China Heilongjiang Nature Reserve and Japanese red-crowned cranes are gradually migrating here. What is even more gratifying is that in recent years, more than 60 white cranes that have not been recorded in nature reserves have been attracted to spend the winter here, which has aroused great concern and appreciation from domestic and foreign bird experts.

Nature reserve is one of the areas with rich biodiversity, with 450 species of plants, 379 species of birds, 45 species of amphibians and reptiles, 28/kloc-0 species of fish and 47 species of mammals. Among them, there are 12 species of national key protected wild animals, including red-crowned crane, white-headed crane, white crane, white stork, black stork, merganser, Sha Ou, ostrich, white-shouldered eagle, golden eagle, white-tailed sea eagle and paddlefish, and 67 species of national key protected wild animals, including roe deer. The region is rich in resources, which can produce1million tons of reeds,1million tons of aquatic products and export nearly 300 tons of nereis every year.

Since the establishment of the reserve nearly 15 years ago, it has made great achievements and paid a huge price. At the beginning of the construction area, in order to prevent the vibration of the train from breaking the embryo of the bad guy during transportation, two staff members limped for a few days and nights with only a carton full of cotton wool in their hands, and brought back two red-crowned crane eggs from Heilongjiang. From the first two red-crowned cranes, there were 150 red-crowned cranes. At the age of 20, a young crane nurse named Xu Xiujuan gave her life to save an injured red-crowned crane that fell into the river. In memory of this girl who has made great contributions to the development and construction of the reserve, a snow-white statue of Xu Xiujuan stands in front of Wanghai Hotel in Yancheng, an old revolutionary base area. At the same time, a song "The Story of Red-crowned Crane" praising her touching deeds was widely circulated in Yanfu.

At present, there is a tall "Wanghe Pavilion" in the reserve for tourists to climb up and watch; In order to speed up the artificial propagation and domestication of red-crowned cranes, the "Crane Domestication and Breeding Center" was established. "Jiangsu Coastal Ecological and Natural Museum" has a collection of bird and mammal specimens. "Special poultry farm", "Nereis breeding and processing export base" and so on, have already had considerable regulations.

Visitors can appreciate the artistic conception of Tang poetry. "Autumn has been sad and lonely since ancient times. I say autumn is better than spring. When a crane crosses the clouds, it brings poetry to the blue night."

Establish coastal rare bird protection areas. Has attracted the attention of the world. From 65438 to 0985, Dr. Aki Polder, Chairman of the International Crane Foundation, made a special trip to visit, and experts and scholars at home and abroad often came here for sightseeing and exchange. At the same time, it attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, where people can enjoy the dance of wild cranes, the wonderful performance of domesticated cranes, and take photos with cranes as a souvenir, leaving good wishes for health and longevity. There are also abundant seafood in the reserve. Visitors can pick clams, catch crabs, fish and shrimp and have a picnic on the beach. They can also drive to nearby seaside forest farms, fishing villages, saltworks and other tourist attractions to taste all kinds of game seafood. At this point, it is refreshing. Stay and forget to come back.
