At the second annual meeting of reading club, I experienced the open space for the first time. The host introduced that the coffee break of the conference is really popular in foreign conferences, and everyone has the opportunity to speak freely, discuss the topics of the conference and flip through the forms, instead of saying one thing and doing another.

Harvest and feeling

For me, free space is very interesting and novel, which can be applied to future training and activity organization. When choosing the guidance form, I need to further consider the shortcomings of open space besides analyzing its advantages.

Advantages of free space:

1. Freedom of speech

Open space has fewer rules than private board meetings, so there is no need to limit the time and number of speeches. The public has more opportunities to speak and participate, and the whole scene is free, democratic and open.

2. Freedom of topic selection

You are free to choose your own topic, you can choose your own topic of interest according to your needs, and you can put forward your own personalized topic.

3. Walk freely and give your own suggestions on different topics.

Free space disadvantage:

1. It is difficult to go deep.

There is no specific clarification of the stall owner's situation, and the suggestions are more general (even some problems can be solved by Baidu), which also leads to more general suggestions. In addition, stall owners who focus on solving problems have little room to play and can only say "thank you" and "there is", which makes it difficult to solve problems in depth.

2. Test the vendor's ability

For example, how to raise good topics and attract onlookers to their booths; How to guide bystanders to speak further; There is a person who talks too much, digressing and other issues, testing how the stall owner handles it; Summary and reporting ability of stall owner

It takes a long time and a lot of space.

There are too many butterflies, but few people really participate in the discussion.

These shortcomings affect the application scope of open space and need to be further discussed in specific training.
