The equipment manufacturing industry plays a strong supporting role in supporting the development of these industries by providing advanced technical equipment for metallurgy, petrochemicals, light industry, textiles, building materials, electronic information, biomedicine, aerospace, energy, infrastructure and other fields. In 2005, the national averages of thermal power plants were 370 grams, 6.49 grams, 1.76 grams, and 3.18 grams respectively. Driven by emerging technologies such as information and software, advanced equipment manufacturing has entered the high-tech field and is an integration of various industrial technologies. The equipment manufacturing industry is also a carrier of high and new technologies, playing a key role in my country's manned spaceflight project, lunar orbit project, nanomaterial development and application, and nuclear energy research.

2. Structural reform has made progress. Substantial progress has been made in the reform of state-owned equipment manufacturing enterprises, and most of them have been transformed into joint-stock enterprises, achieving burden reduction, downsizing, divestment of social functions and separation of main and auxiliary enterprises.
