Blue and green have gradually become the main colors of lighting, and the bright, cheerful and enthusiastic rhythm makes people feel the harmony and beauty of urban life.

With the development of industrialization and urbanization, cities not only make people enjoy a better life, but also bring difficulties and challenges such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution and resource shortage. Shanghai World Expo is the first Expo with the theme of city. During the World Expo, people will exchange experiences on urban sustainable development.

The LED light-emitting ball floating from Lupu Bridge is changing the colors of red, yellow and orange, and it flows down the river continuously. More than 200 flag ships, under the traction of three speedboats, met with LED luminous balls descending downstream on the river. The speedboat dragged the fireworks down, and a hundred flag boats passed through the colored balls. This is a unique "water inlet".

The idea of "Romantic Water" originated from China's classic love story "Butterfly Lovers". A group of permanent fountains by the Huangpu River reappeared this touching story. With the change of music, the dance of water becomes the screen of water, and large projectors project colorful flowers and thousands of butterflies, which embodies the harmony between man and nature.

Golden fireworks were first lit from Lupu Bridge. Colorful fireworks are set off on barges on both sides of the strait and on the river, chasing each other and competing for beauty.

Silver and purple fireworks bloomed first, and then all kinds of colorful and dazzling fireworks bloomed one after another. "Smiling face" and other modeling fireworks depict the open China. Golden fireworks are set off from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and greet each other over the Pujiang River, forming a special shape of "hand in hand".

With the music of Ode to Joy playing, fireworks are blooming, and all searchlights, lasers and fountains are filled with colorful light and fire, which makes the sky bright for a while and illuminates the night sky for a while.

Scientific development and sustainable development are the ideas pursued by Shanghai World Expo. Wenguo Liu, assistant director of the Expo Bureau and deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Broadcasting, said that the fireworks used at the opening ceremony were "low-carbon", with no smoke, light sound and very bright colors.

In addition, the 2,000 guest seats at the opening ceremony were made of discarded milk boxes, the program list and handbag were made of recycled paper, and low-energy audio and led large screens were also widely used. More than 200 flag boats used in this opening ceremony will also be presented to disabled athletes for training.
