During the Spring Festival, after firecrackers were banned, many rural areas banned burning paper money! Rural people's concern

It's going to be a small year soon. In my hometown of Henan, according to the past custom, every household should set off firecrackers in the off-year and formally enter the rhythm of the New Year.

Then set off firecrackers on New Year's Eve and in the early hours of New Year's Eve, and finally set off firecrackers for the last time on the fifteenth day of the first month, and the year is over.

During the Spring Festival, firecrackers are prohibited all over the country.

In recent years, many places have begun to implement "no burning and no releasing", especially in Henan, where firecrackers are completely banned not only in cities but also in rural areas.

In order to set off firecrackers and fireworks, Henan people who are closer to other provinces set off fireworks across provinces.

Many rural people hope to lift the ban on burning and releasing during the Spring Festival, but until now, it is still a global ban.

At present, firecrackers are prohibited in cities because of fire prevention, pollution prevention and noise prevention, but in rural areas, this kind of safety hazard is very small.

Rural population density is small, not as concentrated as cities. Firecrackers and fireworks are set off intensively, resulting in limited pollution. Therefore, I think there is absolutely no need to ban them like cities.

Therefore, the author hopes that before the Spring Festival, the rural areas that are still banned can temporarily lift the restrictions and let rural people set off firecrackers happily.

Many places began to ban the burning of paper money and mingbi.

In addition to the prohibition of setting off fireworks and firecrackers in rural areas, the author also noticed that many places also banned another folk custom during the Spring Festival, that is, burning paper money and mingbi.

During the Spring Festival, there is an important folk custom, that is, going to your ancestral grave early in the morning to burn paper money and mingbi for your ancestors and pray that they can bless their descendants.

The Spring Festival is approaching. So far, many places have made it clear one after another to encourage residents to make civilized sacrifices. During the sacrifice, it is forbidden to set off firecrackers and burn paper money.

For example, Qingdao, Shandong Province promulgated the Regulations of Qingdao Municipality on Prohibiting Burning and Throwing Funeral and Memorial Articles, requiring all communities and cooperatives to strictly prohibit the use of fire for field sacrifices, actively create "smoke-free cemeteries", and strictly prohibit the burning of funeral and memorial articles such as paper money and mingbi in cemetery sacrifice places.

Laoting County, Hebei Province not only prohibits the burning of paper money, but also requires the prohibition of sales.

In the previous Mid-Autumn Festival, Laoting County carried out market rectification of banknotes and coins, investigated and dealt with more than 30 merchants selling banknotes and coins, and collected 2,346 bundles and 287 packages of banknotes and coins.

Loudi City, Hunan Province also stipulates that it is forbidden to burn incense wax, paper money, mingbi and other sacrificial articles at will, and it is completely forbidden to set off lanterns of Kongming, fireworks and lanterns floating on the river.

Investigate and deal with enterprises, shops and individuals that produce and sell paper money in the city, and prohibit production, transportation and sales.

Langfang City, Hebei Province, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province and other places have also issued similar regulations, requiring all traditional festivals such as the Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. to be prohibited from burning paper money and not to be produced or sold.

Why is it forbidden to burn paper money?

If it is forbidden to set off firecrackers because it will cause environmental pollution, security risks, noise pollution and other problems, what is the reason for prohibiting the burning of paper money and coins during the sweeping ceremony? Some people say that there may be such considerations:

First of all, burning paper money is a feudal superstition and an uncivilized behavior.

It is forbidden to burn paper money and mingbi when sweeping the grave, so how to go to the grave? All the above places advocate "civilized sacrifice" and suggest using flowers instead of burning paper money.

Secondly, some people say that burning paper money may cause a fire. This risk does exist, because rural cemeteries in mountainous areas are built around mountains, and it is dry in winter. If the paper money burned after the sacrifice is not completely extinguished, it may cause a mountain fire.

But the author believes that these problems are not real problems.

Is it really a feudal superstition to burn paper money and mingbi when offering sacrifices to sweep? I don't think so. It may have existed in ancient times, but now it has become a custom, not a superstition.

In addition, it is civilized to sacrifice flowers and sweep flowers in the west. Isn't it superstition?

As for the fire, it may only happen in a few mountainous areas, but there are risks. Management should be strengthened and people should be required to do safety protection consciously, instead of banning it across the board.

Do you think it is reasonable to go to the grave to worship ancestors during the Spring Festival, instead of burning paper money and mingbi, use flowers instead? Please tell me your opinion.
