Wuhan drive to Penglai-Yantai-Weihai-Qingdao-Lianyungang-Nanjing guide
The weather in Wuhan is very hot now. Many people choose to travel by car in private cars. Take a walk around the country to see the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. They are places that we admire and favor. We come to other places to look for them. My own dream, let me share with you the guide for driving from Wuhan to Penglai-Yantai-Weihai-Qingdao-Lianyungang-Nanjing.
If you have time, you can go to Yantai and Weihai, so I arranged a family trip this summer, and the family went around the Jiaodong Peninsula.
This time we are still driving by ourselves, so we can stop and go. Starting from Wuhan, I first took my parents back to my hometown in Hebei to visit relatives,
and then from Hebei to Shandong, along the coastline of the Jiaodong Peninsula, from Penglai, Yantai, and Weihai to Qingdao, then to Lianyungang, and finally passed through Nanjing. Return to Wuhan.
The entire trip was 3,500 kilometers, and the time schedule was relatively ample. I visited each city for 2-3 days. I drove by myself without time constraints. The schedule was well connected. In the end, I went home to rest one day earlier than I expected. .
I’m not very good at writing. Anyway, I’ll mainly focus on photos. Just look at the pictures to get a feel for it.
When I usually travel, I don’t have the motivation to post travel notes for only one or two destinations. Only for long-term trips like this, I will record them, which will be interesting to look back on in the future.
The trip is a bit long and there are too many records

The article explains without too much nonsense. I took photos of food, accommodation and entertainment. The photos speak for themselves. If you have any questions about this route, you can reply. comminicate.
First, take a few photos from various places to preview, and then review them slowly on the following floors.
Let me explain here. This is a family trip, not a photography trip by myself
So for the sake of portability, I only brought a Canon entry-level SLR and a Fuji mirrorless camera. In addition, some photos were only taken with mobile phones. The later stage is completed by Lr+Ps+meituxiuxiu.
I usually shoot a lot of movies in Wuhan. If there are any spaghettis you want to make an appointment with, you can send me a message and I won’t say much more in the post.
Day1
I was still at work on the day of departure. I set off immediately after get off work. I was walking in a hurry. When I left the city, I realized that I didn’t bring the ETC expressway. Well, I had to walk all the way. Artificial channel.
We had dinner in the service area and stayed there until around 11pm. When we arrived in Shangqiu, Henan, we found a hotel in Shangqiu to rest.
Day2
Get up in the morning and continue on the highway, arriving at a relative’s house in Hebei at noon.
Day3
After lunch, we took a short rest and left Hebei for Shandong, officially starting the family tour.
After driving for five or six hours, we arrived in Penglai after dark.
We walked around along the seaside road and looked for the location of the pier. We didn’t really want to go into attractions like Penglai Pavilion, so we planned to go directly from the pier to Changdao tomorrow morning.
After looking around for a while, we went back to the hotel to rest.
Day4
We plan to drive the car to Changdao, which requires us to go to the pier to board the ro-ro ship. I heard that there will be a lot of cars queuing up to board the ship, so we will take this day I got up relatively early and arrived at the pier around 6:30. The pier is near Penglai Ocean Polar World.
Because I arrived early, there were not many people or cars. I bought my ticket and passed the security check smoothly, then drove into the pier and waited to board the ship.
The one-way boat ticket to the island is 30 yuan per person, and the additional car ticket is 160 yuan per car. Buy a ticket on Changdao when you come back from the island. The fare is the same as going to the island.
After boarding the ship, the vehicles drove into the bottom cabin one by one and parked one by one.
After parking the car, people went to the upper cabin to rest. We came early, there were really no people, and the seats were all empty.
The boat was about to set off, so I walked to the top platform of the boat. The wind was blowing very comfortably.
It took about an hour to arrive at Changdao Port. According to the rules, the driver went to the lower cabin in advance to drive off the ship, and the passengers got off the ship. I didn't pay attention to the radio, and I got off the cabin late. All the other cars had driven away, and I was the only one left in the entire cabin. . .
Changdao is not a separate island, but consists of South Changshan Island and North Changshan Island. There is a bridge connecting the two islands.
When we first got off the ship, Changdao Port was on the South Island. After we got off the ship, we drove along the road and drove directly to the North Island, where we got a general understanding of the island’s environment.
Then I found a restaurant for breakfast. The Spanish mackerel dumplings I ate did not taste as good as I expected.
After eating, we went to the nearby Crescent Bay Beach.
The beach is full of small round pebbles, which they call "ball stones". Scenic area slogans and radio broadcasts promote that pebbles are mineral resources and it is forbidden to pick them up.
It was noon after we finished playing in Moon Bay, and we passed the bridge again and returned to the South Island.
Self-driving is so convenient. You can play wherever you want and live wherever you want. It took us a long time on the island to go to the place where we lived. It was better to go back to the vicinity of Changdao Port and find us in a community in advance. Booked a B&B.
It is a standard two-bedroom apartment with a refrigerator, washing machine, and kitchen utensils. It is very suitable for a family trip like ours. After taking a rest, we went to the seafood market to buy some seafood and cook it ourselves. It feels almost like being at home.
There are not many varieties of seafood in the market, and the prices are quite affordable.
We bought seafood for four to five hundred yuan and had two meals as a family.
After lunch, I felt it was quite hot outside, so I stayed home and slept all afternoon, and didn’t get up until five or six o’clock to continue going out.
Day5
I slept until I woke up naturally in the morning, checked out of the room and continued activities on the island.
At noon, we had almost finished playing. We drove to the pier and boarded the boat, ready to leave the island.
After getting off the boat from Changdao, it took more than an hour’s drive to reach downtown Yantai.
We first went to the West Fort National Defense Park. This is a small free park with few tourists and it is very quiet.
On an empty field in the park, there is a row of old tanks, cannons and other weapons and equipment.
As a coastal city, of course you still have to come to the beach to play.
At Golden Beach, we played from around 4pm until sunset.
When it gets dark, go back to the hotel and rest.
Day6
After leaving the hotel, we had breakfast at KFC downstairs and then headed to Yangma Island. There are coastal roads all the way, and you can enjoy the sea view while driving.
I pull over from time to time and come down to take some photos.
After driving for more than an hour, we stopped and walked. Across a small piece of sea, we saw Yangma Island. This is actually a peninsula, and there is a bridge connecting the urban roads, so it is very convenient to drive up.
Go across this bridge and you will reach the island.
We walked along the Ring Road and turned counterclockwise, watching as we walked.
This is a racecourse.
In the distance is Yangma Island Beach.
A resort hotel on a hillside.
It’s really nice to stay on this island for a while and have some recuperation.
In just one or two hours, I drove around the island with stops and starts.
Then continue back to the city road and go to Weihai.
On the way to Weihai, along the tourist avenue, we passed two castle-style hotels, which were quite eye-catching.
Weihai is very close to Yantai, and it takes more than an hour to arrive. We first drove to the Dingyuan Ship Scenic Area.
The "Dingyuan" ship was the flagship of the Beiyang Navy of the Qing Dynasty in the Sino-Japanese War. Ding Ruchang, the admiral of the Beiyang Navy in the Sino-Japanese War, commanded the battle on this battleship.
The "Dingyuan" ship anchored on the shores of Weihai Bay is the first Qing Dynasty warship in Asia to be completely replicated 1:1 according to the prototype. Its appearance is exactly the same as the historical original ship. It is divided into five upper and lower floors, of which the three floors on the deck are weapons and equipment, and the two floors inside the cabin are historical exhibition halls.
In the interior of the warship, you can see the places where naval officers and soldiers lived and worked, the Western-style officers' mess, the Chinese-style kitchen, the military hospital and the officer living area. When you are inside, you can feel the atmosphere of the Beiyang Navy more than a century ago. The real life of officers and soldiers.
The main landscape of the Dingyuan ship is the replica of the Beiyang Navy flagship "Dingyuan" in the late Qing Dynasty.
The historical "Dingyuan" ship is a product of industrial civilization in the 19th century. Because of its powerful armament and complete protection, it was once known as "Asia's largest ship" and "the first-class ironclad ship on earth". ”, witnessing and symbolizing a glorious past in China’s oceans.
Because of the strong Sino-Japanese War and its unyielding performance in the Sino-Japanese War, this warship won the title of "the unsinkable 'Dingyuan'" and became a maritime totem in the hearts of the Chinese people. .
The Dingyuan ship was a warship ordered from Germany by the Qing government at a cost of nearly 1.7 million taels of silver. It was a rare large ironclad ship in the world navy at that time. Its thick armor, large tonnage, and heavy artillery fire were conducive to defense. , known as the "First Iron Ship". The ship was built by the German Würchen Shipyard and launched on November 28, 1883.
On September 17, 1894, the main force of the Beiyang Navy, headed by "Dingyuan" and "Zhenyuan", fought a decisive battle with the main force of the Japanese Navy's combined fleet in the Dadonggou waters of the Yellow Sea.
The "Dingyuan" ship was hit by 159 bullets, and the "Zhenyuan" ship was hit by 220 bullets. The craters on the armor and turret armor of the "Ding" and "Zhen" ships did not exceed 102 mm. It shows the tenacious vitality of the second ship.
In the early morning of February 5, 1895, the "Dingyuan" ship was attacked by a Japanese naval torpedo boat during the Weihai defense battle. Ding Ruchang ordered the warship to run aground to the south of Liugong Island before it sank, and use naval guns to , enhance the defense power of the east entrance.
Ding Ruchang was forced to evacuate "Dingyuan" and moved to "Zhenyuan" to command. On the afternoon of the 10th, Ding Ruchang and Liu Buchan ordered the stranded "Dingyuan" to be blown up with water mines.
After remembering the Beiyang Navy Dingyuan, it was noon and the temperature was still very high. We found a Pizza Hut, had lunch and sat there for a long time. We went out to do some activities around four o'clock.
The bicycles on the roadside are neatly arranged.
I heard that the Huanhai Road in Weihai is very beautiful, so I came to take a walk. . .
From Huanhai Road, we still go to the seaside, Weihai International Bathing Beach.
In the evening, many people come to the bathing beach to swim and play in the water.
We rented an inflatable boat for 80 yuan with no time limit.
Facing the setting sun, the golden light flashes on the sea, which can only be said to be beautiful.
When you are tired of playing, there are many restaurants on the beach. Sit down and enjoy the sea breeze and eat seafood. The prices are very affordable.
Day7.
There is Liugong Island next to Weihai. Since you are here, you should go up and take a look.
If you take a boat to the island, you cannot drive up there, you can only take people.
Because it is very close to the land, it is very fast, only 20 to 30 minutes.
The white monument on the mountain is the "Beiyang Navy Loyalty Monument"
Going to the island, there are troops stationed on the island. There is also a military dock next to the civilian dock, with several warships docked. In this courtyard is the army barracks.
Beiyang Navy Admiral Yamen.
This is a facility left behind by the British in the past, and is now used to exhibit lettering art.
There is also a decommissioned submarine for tourists to visit.
Huangdao Fort Weapons Museum.
After returning to Weihai from Liugong Island, we had a meal and then left Weihai for Qingdao, a three and a half hour drive.
When we arrived in the city, we found accommodation near the seaside Olympic Sailing Center. A theme hotel. . .
Originally we didn’t want this style, but when we arrived there were no other room types to choose from. Alas, it didn’t matter, we were sleeping everywhere.
Day8.
After getting up, I still had breakfast at KFC downstairs.
After eating, I saw a gas detection vehicle like this. To be honest, I had never seen it in Wuhan.
Going to the Olympic Sailing Center, we passed Hisense Plaza, a well-known shopping mall in Qingdao, equivalent to Wuguang Guoguang Bar.
As soon as I arrived at the Olympic Sailing Center, I saw the red sculpture from a distance. I still remember its name is "Wind of May". I saw it when I was a child and came to Qingdao with my father for recuperation. In the past, the only impression left in my mind of Qingdao is it. It is so eye-catching and dynamic, and it deserves to be the landmark of Qingdao. The area where it is located is the "May Fourth Square".
Loverba Lighthouse, I know it because there was a season of "Extreme Challenge" in Qingdao.
There was a long row of flagpoles in front of the lighthouse. At that time, Sun Honglei, Luo Zhixiang, and Zhang Yixing were there. Complete the tasks assigned by the program team here.
Next, I wanted to go to the trestle, but there was no parking space around, so I parked at the train station next to it, which is a multi-story parking lot.
It only took ten minutes to walk from the train station to the trestle. The weather was not very good at that time, and the visibility in the distance was gray and gray. I took a few photos of the trestle and didn't think they looked good, so I didn't keep them.
Then we went to the nearby Zhejiang Road Catholic Church.
Passing through the former site of the German JC Agency, which is now the Qingdao Public Security Bureau.
There are many similar Western-style buildings nearby.
The original name of Qingdao Catholic Church is St. Michael's Church. It was designed by German designer Biloha based on Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles. The proposed church should be 100 meters high. At the outbreak of World War II, Hitler strictly prohibited the outflow of funds from Germany, so the church had to modify the drawings and build it to its current size. Construction of the church began in 1932 and was completed in 1934. The tower is 56 meters tall and was the tallest building in Shandong Province before the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is the only consecrated church in China.
The church covers an area of ??11,480 square meters, including a construction area of ??6,301.54 square meters. The church is made of yellow granite and reinforced concrete, with simple and beautiful patterns carved on the surface. The windows are semi-circular arches with smooth lines, solemn and simple. There is a huge rose window above the gate, and a bell tower stands on each side. The tower is 56 meters tall. A huge 4.5-meter-high cross is erected on the red-tiled cone-shaped spire. There are four large bells hanging in the tower. The sound of bells and bells can be heard for miles. Entering the church, you will see a spacious and bright hall with a height of 18 meters and a capacity of a thousand people. The colorful stained glass windows transmit soft light. There are corridors on the east and west sides of the hall, with two large altars and four small altars at the back. The dome of the hall is painted with icon murals, with dazzling lights and a strong religious atmosphere. The roof is covered with red tiles, which is majestic, simple and elegant.
The Naval Museum is adjacent to Lu Xun Park to the east, Xiao Qingdao Park to the west, across the water from the trestle, and to the north is the famous scenic spot Qingdao Signal Hill Park.
The small island next to it is "Little Qingdao"
The Naval Museum. I remember that I also visited it when I was a child, but I can't remember what the scene was like.
This is a trainer aircraft. My father said that he flew it in aviation school.
The Naval Museum was founded by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy and is the only military museum in China that comprehensively reflects the development of the Chinese Navy.
Climbing to the top of the exhibition warship, you can overlook the trestle, the Catholic church, and Signal Hill Park with three "red mushrooms" on the top of the mountain.
It is said that Qingdao is full of green trees, red tiles, blue sea and blue sky. After leaving the Naval Museum, we came to the Badaguan Scenic Area. It is really tree-lined, quiet and quiet, suitable for leisurely strolling and visiting. Take photos.
Next to Badaguan is the Qingdao Second Bathing Beach on the seaside.
You can also see the flower-stone building in Badaguan from the bathhouse.
In the evening, an arch-shaped cloud appears. Is this pretending to be the Milky Way Arch Bridge?
Unsurprisingly, there are countless photographers and couples taking wedding photos on the beach.
I was originally shooting a scene, but there was white gauze in every direction around me, so I just put the characters in the picture as an embellishment of the seascape.
The girl stood on the beach waiting for the waves to come over and captured the moment when the waves splashed. It can be seen from this expression that she was caught off guard by a big wave and her face turned pale.
(The following photos are non-commercial and do not involve portrait rights, but to avoid controversy, I still partially covered my eyes)
I found a seafood restaurant in the evening and ate the legendary 38 A "Qingdao prawn". . .
But to be honest, the prices are clearly marked here, and overall, they are not expensive.
The trip went smoother than I imagined, and the progress was faster than I expected. There was only one place to go today: Signal Mountain, and then we left from the cross-sea bridge and said goodbye to Qingdao.
The photo below is of the "Qingdao City Caring for the Next Generation Working Committee" next to Signal Hill Park. I have never heard of such an organization before.
Signal Hill Park itself is not interesting, but the top of the mountain is high. The purpose of coming here is to overlook Qingdao. As the saying goes, "green trees, red tiles, blue sea and blue sky", you can see it here The most true.
Many iconic buildings are within sight, such as the trestle on the seaside. . .
For example, I just visited the Zhejiang Road Catholic Church. . .
For example, Jiangsu Road Christian Church, etc. can be seen here.
There is also the German Governor's Building in Qingdao.
Use the tilt-shift effect to instantly transform the model into a model.
The Concentric Bridge on Signal Mountain has many heart-shaped locks on it.
I have always wanted to run the cross-sea bridge in Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao, and this time I can finally do it.
After getting off Signal Mountain, we were ready to leave Qingdao. We returned to Wuhan and took the direction of Lianyungang. Just in time, we left Qingdao through the cross-sea bridge.
