Culture and History

Xishui is a red land. In 1935, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army made its "four crossings of the Chishui River" on the Long March, and the first, second and fourth crossings were within Xishui.

Historical evolution

The lower county was cleared. In 1915, Feishui County was established. Because the jurisdiction was the ancient Dao Kingdom and there was the Feishui River, the county was named after it. It was changed to Xishui County in 1959.
