Development of grass-roots assassination competition

Assassination is an effective means to annihilate the enemy in close combat, and it is also a traditional training course of our army. As early as 1930s, the Red Army schools in the revolutionary base areas regarded assassination as an important training course. During the war of liberation, assassination, shooting and bombing were listed as the "three major technologies" of our army. In the new era, the equipment level of the people's army is improving day by day, and the means of combat are becoming increasingly diversified. However, assassination, as an important means to inherit the fine traditions of the army and enhance the individual combat capability, has always been inherited and carried forward.

Assassination is the skill of engaging the enemy hand-to-hand with bayonets, gun butts and magazines, such as stabbing, defending, hitting, bumping and splitting. On the battlefield, the two armies confronted each other and fought with bayonets to decide the life and death of soldiers.

Professor Yang of the Army Special Operations Academy: The assassination of our army can be said to have originated from the battlefield and was formed in practice. Under the historical conditions at that time, we learned the techniques of Hua thorn and Su thorn, and combined some contents of our traditional martial arts in China to form our present Liberation Army thorn.
