Reading guidance classes provide guidance on reading methods: guidance on skimming, intensive reading, and browsing, guidance on reading in different genres such as novels, prose, and poetry, and guidance on how to read a book, etc. In short, everything focuses on "how to read more effectively" to serve students, allowing students to gradually and flexibly use correct reading methods and develop good reading habits. The book recommendation class is mainly for students to recommend books they have read to their partners. Reading exchange classes can be language exchanges, notes and diary exchanges, or online exchanges.
We pay attention to using activities as a carrier to maintain students’ enthusiasm for reading.
First, the creation of scholarly classes is based on horizontal creation and evaluation by grade level, with both hard indicators and software details.
Second, we carry out activities such as reading for little book lovers to compete for five stars. You will get one star for every two books you read. Whoever reads 10 books first will win the title of "Five-star Little Book Lover".
Third, carry out reading month and reading festival activities. We designate March and September each year as Reading Month, and Friday of the third week of September as Reading Day. During this period, schools and classes also conducted exhibitions and reviews of growth diaries and knowledge-seeking notes. Every semester, students wrote diaries with more than 40 notes, and a handwritten newspaper was published every month. In addition, lectures, presentations, speeches, and comments are complete. In the "One Day Open" activity, the textbook plays and fairy tales told by students were well received by the participants. The school is filled with the refreshing fragrance of books. Fourth, the school magazine "Times Youth" was founded, providing a platform for teachers and students to express their passion and thoughts.
4. Enjoy the initial gains from reading.
After participating in the new education experiment for more than a year, teachers and students have become less impetuous and more scholarly. The quality of the group has quietly improved. Three students from our school formed a team to participate in the city's comprehensive skills competition and won the first prize. , students participated in the city reading competition and won the second prize. More than ten teachers’ papers and essays have been published in provincial and municipal newspapers and magazines or won awards. More than 30 student writings were published in provincial newspapers and journals. The school was among the first to enter the ranks of the city’s civilized campuses, and footage of students studying after school was included in the city’s “Creating a Civilized Campus Documentary.”
The experiment of “creating a bookish campus and building a reading culture” inspired teachers and students of our school, highlighted the characteristics of the school, and gradually embarked on the road of connotative development. We will continue along this road, walk out of the wonderful, and move towards glory.
