Pine, cypress and some miscellaneous trees are suitable as materials for sloping dry bonsai.

Cliff type generally has semi-suspension type, full suspension type and upside down type.

Full suspension: the bonsai tree is out of the pot as a whole, extending downwards in a dumping way, and the branches are horizontally extended.

Upside-down type: Bonsai trees come out of the pot as a whole, with bare trunks hanging upside down vertically and branches still outside.

The production of cliff bonsai focuses on the selection of materials, which requires that the base of the trunk of the material has a certain bending change, so that the trunk or branches can cross out or droop. Although cliff bonsai is popular, it must be considered according to the material conditions and should follow the modeling principle of "adapting to the material".

Cliff bonsai used to be planted in flowerpots to compare the momentum of trees falling from a height. Planting two trees should have front and back, not parallel. Whoever comes first depends on the specific situation. When planting, the trunk bases of the two trees should be close, and the roots should be basically the same and cannot be separated. The included angle between the trunk extension directions of two trees should not be too large, and it is generally ideal within 45. If it is too big, the trunks of two trees may lose mutual echo and expectation.

It is complicated to choose and adjust the branches with double branches, so we should treat the two trees as a unified whole to achieve overall balance and stability, coordination between reality and reality, and orderly competition.
