Thoughts on Reading "Is Your Light On"

The title of this book is very interesting, which immediately aroused my curiosity and desire to read. Fortunately, books are relatively thin, so there is no psychological burden to read, because I am afraid of "big" (thick and difficult to understand) books.

I have probably read a book, and I think the focus of this book is to solve problems. The title of the book comes from a short story in this book: there is a long passage. For safety, a reminder device is installed at the entrance of the tunnel to remind people whether the light has been turned on. However, people usually forget to turn off the lights after leaving the tunnel, which leads to serious power consumption of the car and even the situation that the car can't start, which brings trouble to the traffic police. So some people think, is there a slogan at the exit of the tunnel to remind everyone to turn off the lights? What sentence can play the most suggestive role? The engineer compared various schemes and finally found this sentence: Is your light on? In the author's opinion, the magic of this sentence is that "if people really turn on the light, a small reminder may be more effective than a complicated solution".

From this short story, I understand that there are many ways to solve problems, and the key is to find the most suitable and concise one. In addition to this gain, I also gained the frame thinking to solve the problem: first define the problem, then analyze the problem, and finally solve the problem:

First, define the problem.

In this part, to understand the exact meaning of the problem and how to define it, there are several concepts worth thinking about:

The last short story of this paper, fish is always the last to see water, is also thought-provoking: when people think about problems, what they take for granted is always ignored and will not be taken into account. Only when the "solution" removes those factors that we take for granted will we suddenly realize. I wonder, if I were a "fish" in that water, would it be difficult to get rid of the influence of things I take for granted or inertial thinking when thinking about problems?
