In 2016, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province was ranked first as the most livable city in China.

The evaluation criteria for China's top ten livable cities are mainly based on the "China Livable Cities Evaluation Index System", including ecological environment, health index, urban safety index, life convenience index, and life comfort index. 7 primary indicators and 48 secondary indicators including economic affluence, social civilization index and city reputation. The top ten livable cities in China in 2016 are: Zhuhai, Weihai, Xinyang, Huizhou, Xiamen, Jinhua, Liuzhou, Qujing, Jiujiang and Mianyang.

2. Zhuhai, a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province, is located between 21°48′~22°27′ north latitude and 113°03′~114°19′ east longitude. Located in the southwest of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong Province, it faces Hong Kong across the sea to the east, Macau to the south, Xinhui District of Jiangmen City and Taishan City to the west, and Zhongshan City to the north.
