The main attractions of Yungang Grottoes are Caves 1 and 2, Caves 5 and 6, Caves 7 and 8, Caves 9 and 10, Caves10, 12, 13 and unfinished. This period (47 1-494) was the period of filial piety before the Northern Wei Dynasty moved its capital to Luo, and it was the most stable and prosperous period in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The first cave

On the east side of the open window on the outer wall of the first hole, Zhu's Poems of Youyungang Temple in Qing Dynasty are engraved. The plane inside the cave is rectangular with a flat top and a square tower in the center. The upper and lower floors are wood-like roof towers. The top of the tower is a dragon plate, and Mount Sumi winds. The main statue on the north wall is Maitreya Buddha. The story of Xunzi Bensheng is embossed on the lower floor of the East Wall.

The second cave

There is a square three-story tower column in the center of the second cave, with three pavilions carved on all sides of each floor and five small towers carved on the inner wall of the cave, which is the image data for studying the architecture of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The first and second caves are the Huguo Temple before Liao Dynasty and one of the ten temples in Yungang. The "stone drum cold spring" in the Ming and Qing Dynasties is one of the eight scenic spots in the clouds.

The third cave

The largest cave in Yungang was originally designed as a large pagoda temple cave, which was not built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. There used to be a wooden pavilion on the cliff outside the cave, but now only the top 12 beam cave is left, which shows that the Buddha pavilion is a huge system with a width of ten. There are three square towers at both ends of the upper table, and there are two bright windows between the two towers. There is a temple-shaped cave room between the bright windows, and the main statue is carved with Maitreya Buddha. There is a door in the east and west of the cave, and there are three statues of Amitabha, Guanyin and Bodhisattva carved on the north wall of the cave, that is, the "Three Saints of the West". The main Buddha, Amitabha, is 10 meters high, reclining, plump and detached. The bodhisattvas on both sides wear crowns, which are exquisite and solemn.

Yungang Grottoes Museum is a Datong Yungang Grottoes Museum designed by architect Cheng Dapeng. Located in the west side of Yungang Grottoes Scenic Area in Datong City, within the scope of the style protection area, it is one of the sub-items of the transformation of Yungang Grottoes Scenic Area.

Ershierku

The open-air giant Buddha is the most representative work in Yungang Grottoes. It is well preserved above the chest, with a plump and round face, double earlobes and shoulders, beautiful eyes and kind eyes, exquisite carving and vigorous strength.
