National Malaria Day promotional slogan

Today I will share with you the slogan and origin of World Malaria Day:

Malaria is one of the important public health issues of global concern and is widely prevalent around the world. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, there are still 92 countries and regions that are highly or moderately endemic, with 150 million people suffering from malaria every year, and more than 2 million people dying from malaria. Before liberation, malaria was prevalent in my country for many years, especially in the south. Due to the rampant epidemic, a large number of laborers were lost. Since there was no effective drug treatment at that time, the mortality rate of malaria was also very high. After liberation, malaria prevention and control institutions were established across the country, and malaria prevention and scientific research work was extensively carried out. The incidence of malaria has dropped significantly. In recent years, due to the influence of natural and man-made factors, the incidence of malaria has been on the rise especially in some areas. It is of great significance to strengthen malaria prevention and control and prevent its resurgence. In May 2015, the Sixtieth World Health Assembly passed a resolution deciding that from 2015 onwards, April 25 of each year or one or more days decided by individual member states will be designated as "World Malaria Day". Based on the actual situation, our country has decided to designate April 26 every year as "National Malaria Day".

Malaria elimination slogan:

World Malaria Day was proclaimed by the World Health Assembly on the sixth day of May 2007 Established at the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to promote global malaria prevention and control. April 25, 2008 was the first World Malaria Day. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 40% of the world's population is threatened by malaria, with 350 to 500 million people infected with malaria and 1.1 million dying from malaria every year. 3,000 children die from malaria every day. The incidence is mainly concentrated in the old, young, border and poor areas with relatively backward economy and inconvenient transportation. For approximately one in two people worldwide, malaria remains one of the most serious threats to public health.
