Where is the ancient Jianye?

Jianye is an ancient place name in Nanjing, which originated in the Western Jin Dynasty. At present, Jianye has been included in the main urban area, one of the six main urban areas in Nanjing, located in the southwest of Nanjing.

In 2 1 1 year, Sun Quan of Wu, one of the Three Kingdoms, built a stone city in Stone Mountain, the former site of Jinling City, and built its capital here in 229, with a capital circumference of about 1 1 km, thus beginning the capital history of Nanjing. After the destruction of Wu, in the third year of Taikang (282), Shang was rebuilt as Jianye.

Geographical environment of jianye district

The geology of jianye district was formed in Proterozoic Sinian 800 million years ago. After the great crustal turmoil, sedimentary rocks such as limestone, dolomite, shale, sandstone and conglomerate were formed in different periods.

Jianye district belongs to the north subtropical humid climate zone, with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, short spring and autumn, long winter and summer, large annual temperature difference and few disastrous meteorological disasters. The boundary water system of Jianye area is adjacent to Qinhuai River and Nanhe River in the east, Qinhuai New River in the south and Yangtze River in the west.
