Control effect of endemic fluorosis

Endemic fluorosis refers to systemic chronic cumulative poisoning caused by excessive intake of pathogenic factor fluorine through drinking water, diet and breathing, which is mainly manifested in the changes and injuries of teeth and bones in clinic. Drinking water endemic fluorosis areas are distributed in 28 provinces 1 1 15 counties, with a threatened population of about 72,074,500.

Coal-burning endemic fluorosis areas are distributed in 12 provinces 17 1 county, and the threatened population is about 332 1 10,000; Tea-drinking endemic fluorosis areas are distributed in 229 counties of 7 provinces with a population of140,000. According to the statistics of endemic diseases in China, there are about 38 million patients with dental fluorosis and 2.3 million patients with skeletal fluorosis, excluding tea-drinking endemic fluorosis.

The work of improving water and reducing fluoride in China began in 1960s.
