Can 21 stainless steel replace 316L stainless steel?

2. There are great differences in mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of 21 stainless steel are: tensile strength is about 52MPa, yield strength is 275MPa, and elongation is 55 to 6%, while the tensile strength of 316L stainless steel is

485(MPa) MIN, yield strength is 17(MPa) MIN, and elongation is 3% MIN.

The former contains a certain amount of Mn with a high content of C (replacing Ni with Mn to save production cost), while the latter contains a large amount of Ni and 2~3% of Mo with a very low content of C, so the corrosion resistance of the former is far less than that of the latter. Therefore, 21 is mainly used for interior decoration in industry, while the latter is mainly used for chemical industry! !
