What is PICC?

PICC definition:

Catheters were punctured from peripheral veins (basilic vein, median elbow vein and cephalic vein), and catheters with the head end located in superior vena cava or subclavian vein were used to provide patients with medium and long-term intravenous infusion treatment (7 days-1 year).

Indications for L PICC application:

Indications: Patients who need long-term intravenous infusion, chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition and drugs to stimulate peripheral veins, patients who lack access to peripheral veins, patients in family beds and premature infants.

Contraindications: the elbow vein is in poor condition, the puncture site is infected or damaged, and the arm vein of the affected side after breast cancer surgery.
