Legal basis: Provisions on the retention period of people's litigation files Article 35 The retention period of litigation files can be divided into permanent, long-term and short-term. According to the characteristics of people's litigation files, all litigation files that need long-term use are classified as permanent custody. All litigation files that need to be consulted and used for a long time are classified as long-term custody for 60 years. All litigation files that need to be consulted and used in a short period of time are classified as short-term custody for 30 years.
