Brief introduction of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's school song

"Police Song" 1897, a song written by Zhang Huanlun, the head teacher of Nanyang Public College, for Nanyang Normal College. The song was jointly written by Zhang Taining, Yao Liren and Shen Qinghong. This is the first school song in the history of Jiaotong University and the earliest university song in China. The lyrics are divided into four chapters, each chapter begins with "police" and ends with "wake up". "Thinking with fear, thinking with shame, learning with diligence and teaching with urgency" is the main theme of alerting workers and inspiring teachers and students to serve the country. Lyrics investigate the world situation, complain bitterly about national disasters and family feuds, and inspire young people to make great efforts to save the country and survive.
