The reporter learned from the Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce yesterday that the State Trademark Office has officially approved the registration of "Chengkou Old Bacon" as a geographical indication trademark. This is the first geographical indication trademark registered in the form of collective trademark in our city.

Chengkou old bacon enjoys a good reputation both inside and outside the city, and its products are also exported to Russia and other countries. At present, there are more than 40,000 employees in the county, with an annual output of tens of thousands of tons. In the future, all the old bacon products produced by non-members of Chengkou County Old Bacon Association will no longer be able to use the geographical indication trademark of Chengkou Old Bacon.

Purpose of applying for geographical indications

In recent years, with the market share of Chengkou old bacon, it ranks first in the national bacon products. Many non-Chengkou manufacturers counterfeit the brand of Chengkou old bacon, which makes the proportion of Chengkou old bacon in the market decline, and the brand of Chengkou old bacon is greatly discounted. Later, the people's government of Chengkou declared the geographical indication of Chengkou old bacon in the State Trademark Office, which effectively protected this green food.
