Nanjing adopts a multi-center, open and axial group development model instead of a single-center pie-spreading structure, thus avoiding many big city problems. The strategy of building a new city in Baolao City since 2002 is also correct. The correct strategy has promoted the development of Nanjing.

The overall urban structure of Nanjing is sparse and dense, with large openings and large closings. While using ecological green belts and subways as connecting areas, it also leaves enough space for future development. Including the latest proposed structural system of north-south pastoral, central urban, and riverside development, it is also relatively in line with the future development direction of Nanjing.
