Report the case to the local public security department after receiving the counterfeit money. Article 32

When the People's Bank of China and the public security organs find forged or altered RMB, they shall confiscate it, affix the word "counterfeit currency" and register it; If the holder has any objection to the authenticity of the RMB confiscated by the public security organ, he may apply to the People's Bank of China for appraisal.

The public security organ shall hand over the confiscated forged or altered RMB to the local People's Bank of China. Article 34

Business institutions of wholly state-owned commercial banks authorized by the People's Bank of China and the People's Bank of China shall provide RMB authentication services free of charge.

If the renminbi stamped with the words "counterfeit currency" is identified as genuine currency, it shall be exchanged by the business institutions of wholly state-owned commercial banks authorized by the People's Bank of China or the People's Bank of China according to the denomination; Those identified as counterfeit money shall be confiscated by the business institutions of wholly state-owned commercial banks authorized by the People's Bank of China or the People's Bank of China.

The business institutions of wholly state-owned commercial banks authorized by the People's Bank of China shall turn over the confiscated forged or altered RMB to the local People's Bank of China.
