How high is Park Geun-hye’s calligraphy skills?

However, the popularity of the Qingfeng version of Park Geun-hye's calligraphy remains high on the Internet, which is really puzzling.

Judging from the seal affixed to the signature, it is reported online that Park Geun-hye's calligraphy should be written by "Wang Qingfeng". Who is Wang Qingfeng? An unknown "calligrapher" wrote a series of "Calligraphy of Park Geun-hye's Quotations" and "Calligraphy of Park Geun-hye's Quotations", which became the source of Park Geun-hye's calligraphy works. As a result, some self-media authors did not know what was going on and directly erased the word "Qingfeng" and openly regarded it as a calligraphy work by Park Geun-hye.

Since then, some self-media authors have followed suit. Park Geun-hye’s calligraphy “skills” pursue the famous calligraphers of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, her style as a talented woman, her calligraphy quality, etc. She can be praised as much as she is good. In fact, it seriously misleads readers. Therefore, only by understanding that the Qingfeng version of "Park Geun-hye's calligraphy" circulated online was not written by Park Geun-hye, can we correctly view Park Geun-hye's calligraphy. First, the picture above is a photo of Park Geun-hye practicing calligraphy. Please note that it is in Korean. Although Korean calligraphy is derived from Chinese calligraphy, it is essentially alphabetical calligraphy similar to English calligraphy and cannot be regarded as real calligraphy. The old man next to Park Geun-hye is Park Chung-hee. Park Chung-hee has a profound background in Chinese studies and his beautiful Chinese calligraphy will have a certain influence on Park Geun-hye. In fact, Park Geun-hye's Chinese literacy is extremely high, and her male idol is Zhao Zilong in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms".

Judging from the way Park Geun-hye writes, the pen barrel is almost vertical to the paper. It is difficult for the pen tip to change in this writing method. This can be seen from her first two characters. Therefore, Park Geun-hye's soft-pen calligraphy skills are good, but they have not reached professional standards. This is largely due to the lack of systematic practice of Chinese calligraphy. Everyone needs to understand that Chinese calligraphy and Korean calligraphy are not the same thing.

Secondly, the picture above shows Park Geun-hye’s inscription to former CCTV reporter Rui Chenggang. This is the real form of Park Geun-hye’s calligraphy, and it comes from the official media. Judging from Park Geun-hye's handwriting, there is no brushwork, composition, or structure, and it has little to do with the calligraphy in our impression. The only information that can be extracted is that Park Geun-hye has a good level of Chinese, at least there are no typos.

Taken together, Park Geun-hye’s Korean calligraphy skills have a certain foundation under the influence of her father, and her Chinese calligraphy skills are not as good as what is said on the Internet. As for Park Geun-hye's calligraphy, most of the online self-media are advocating the Qingfeng version of Park Geun-hye's calligraphy. In other words, Park Geun-hye’s calligraphy was beautified by domestic self-media authors who did not know the inside story.
