MSDS of α -pinene

1 health hazards

Invasion routes: inhalation, ingestion and percutaneous absorption.

Health hazards: Inhalation, ingestion or skin absorption are harmful to the body. High concentration has a strong stimulating effect on eyes, skin, mucosa and respiratory tract. Symptoms of poisoning include burning sensation, cough, wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting. Could cause anesthesia. Sometimes it can damage the kidneys.

Chronic effects: long-term exposure is prone to respiratory irritation symptoms and fatigue, lethargy, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite and so on.

2. Toxicological data and environmental behavior

Hazard characteristics: its vapor and air form an explosive mixture, which will cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flame and high heat energy. Can react strongly with oxidant. Under the condition of high temperature, the internal pressure of the container increases, which is in danger of rupture and explosion.

Combustion (decomposition) products: carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. 1, emergency treatment of leakage

Evacuate the personnel in the leaked contaminated area to a safe area, prohibit irrelevant personnel from entering the contaminated area, and cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear gas masks and ordinary fire-proof clothing. Stop plugging when safety is ensured. Spray can reduce evaporation, but it can't reduce the flammability of leakage in closed space. Absorbed with activated carbon or other inert materials, then collected and transported to the waste disposal site for disposal. It can also be cleaned with a large amount of water, and the diluted cleaning water is put into the wastewater system. If there is a large amount of leakage, it will be contained by dikes, and then it will be collected, transferred, recovered or discarded after harmless treatment.

2, protective measures

Respiratory protection: When you may come into contact with its vapor, you should wear a gas mask. It is recommended to use self-contained breathing apparatus in emergency rescue or escape.

Eye protection: Wear chemical safety glasses.

Protective clothing: wear work clothes.

Hand protection: Wear protective gloves.

Others: Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Avoid long-term repeated contact.

3. First aid measures

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothes and rinse thoroughly with soapy water and clean water.

Eye contact: lift the eyelid immediately and rinse it with running water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes. See a doctor.

Inhalation: leave the scene quickly and go to a place with fresh air. Oxygen is given when breathing is difficult. When breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. See a doctor.

Eating by mistake: people who take it by mistake should drink more warm water, induce vomiting and seek medical attention.

4, fire extinguishing method

Foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder and sand. It is ineffective to put out the fire with water.
