Wenzhou air quality

The air quality in Wenzhou is influenced by industrial development.

Wenzhou City is located in the southeast coastal area of Zhejiang Province, China, with a subtropical monsoon climate. In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization and industrial development, the air quality in Wenzhou has been affected to some extent. According to the data of China National Environmental Monitoring Center, the air quality index (AQI) of Wenzhou is between 100- 150 all the year round, which belongs to the level of light pollution to moderate pollution. The main pollutants are PM2.5, PM 10, sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone (O3).

In order to improve the air quality, Wenzhou municipal government has taken a series of measures, such as strengthening environmental monitoring, strict emission standards and promoting clean energy. At the same time, citizens also actively participate in environmental protection actions to reduce private car trips and garbage sorting.

Measures to control air pollution

6. Strengthen urban greening, increase vegetation coverage and absorb harmful substances in the air.

7. Advocate a lifestyle of energy conservation and emission reduction, and reduce energy consumption and waste generation.

8. Strengthen the implementation of laws and regulations and severely crack down on and punish illegal sewage discharge.

9. Strengthen international cooperation to deal with global climate change and air pollution.
