The elusive Yanling team

Baiyangdian Lake is located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Baoding triangle. It is a vast collection of nine rivers, including Shahe River, Zhulong River and Fuhe River, with a water area of nearly 1 miles in Fiona Fang. Here, reeds are dense, fish and shrimp are fat, rice is fragrant, beautiful and rich, and it is known as the "land of fish and rice" and enjoys the reputation of "Pearl of North China". In particular, Daqing River and Fuhe River run through the east and west, Baoding in the west and Tianjin in the east. They are important waterway transportation lines and the shipping hub of Tianjin and Baoding.

in p>1938, the Japanese invaders rushed into Baiyangdian lake in the central Hebei plain. The picturesque scenery of Baiyangdian lake was defiled by the black gun towers, and the steamboats coming and going cut through the calm lake. In the autumn of 1939, the Party Committee of the Third District of Anxin in China set up a water guerrilla to carry out guerrilla warfare. By the end of 194, the whole team had increased to more than 18 people, owned more than 5 boats, and the muskets had been replaced by March 8th.

Brave and good at fighting, the team members make use of the favorable terrain at the branch of Dianhe River to constantly attack the enemy. The guerrilla's main weapon is "lifting the pole". The "big lifting pole" was originally a large musket for Baiyangdian people to shoot geese and wild ducks, which was installed on the boats of fishermen and Orion. The barrel is more than ten feet long, and it is filled with gunpowder and iron ore. There is a "loose mouth" at the tail of the barrel (where the gunpowder is lit), and the iron ore can be knocked out by lighting the gunpowder twist. In order to prevent the spray from wetting the gunpowder in the gun chamber, fishermen and hunters often put a white Yanling in the "letter". Therefore, Hou Zhuofu, secretary of Anxin County Party Committee in China, named the newly established water guerrillas Yanling Team according to this feature.

in March, 1941, Kameda, the enemy chieftain stationed in Anxin, mobilized more than 13 steamboats from Tianjin and Baoding to cooperate with infantry and cavalry to carry out a joint "sweeping" of Baiyangdian area by land and water. Japanese puppet troops and secret agents are densely packed in villages and towns of Baiyangdian, and steamboats shuttle around Baiyangdian day and night in an attempt to wipe out the water guerrillas. There was no place to stand on the shore, so the Yanling team scattered in the lake, using the reed pond as a cover to deal with the enemy. At this time, there was no food in the lake, and mosquitoes were bitten all over. They still actively looked for opportunities to attack the enemy: sometimes they drove boats and used reeds and branches to fight guerrillas with the enemy; Sometimes we use the night to sneak into enemy strongholds, put up slogans and scatter leaflets. And achieved a lot of results.

Zhao Bo, an investigator at that time, recalled: "We lived in a flat boat, spent 6 nights with heavy dew and fog, survived 6 days of starvation, and never left Baiyangdian."

With the development of the anti-Japanese situation, the Yanling team has become stronger, and the good news has spread frequently. After the "mopping-up" of the May 1 ST Congress in 1942, Zhu Yuqi, the head of the puppet army, and Han Enrong, the squadron leader of the puppet army, were successively eliminated. In the first half of 1943, when more than 3 enemy watchtowers and strongholds were removed, the Japanese army could only retreat to Anxin and Zhaobeikou strongholds, especially after Pinghan Road was cut off by anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians, Daqinghe became the main transportation line of the enemy. In autumn, the enemy organized a fleet of more than 1 cargo ships to load arms and materials from Tianjin and transport them to Baoding to support the isolated enemy in Baonan. After learning the news, the Yanling team found an opportunity to ambush and destroy the enemy, seize arms and materials, and cut off the enemy's water transportation line. Make the whole anti-Japanese situation in Baiyangdian area better.

during the anti-Japanese war, the Yanling team took advantage of the advantages of water and ice, set up guard posts and ambushed the enemy for nearly 1 times, killed and captured nearly 1, Japanese and puppet troops, and gained the reputation of "magic soldiers on the lake", which was rated as "advanced anti-Japanese collective" by Jizhong Military Region, and was later received and praised by Zhu De and Nie Rongzhen. In August 1945, the Yanling team was incorporated into the 38th Regiment of Jizhong Military Region. The platoon boats and homemade weapons used by the Yanling team are also permanently displayed in the China People's Revolutionary Military Museum.
