The Historical Evolution of Chihua Town

Originally known as Baitianba, Chihua was renamed as "Chihua" when the Red Fourth Army passed by on the Long March in 1933, and stayed here for nearly 1 month, establishing the red regime "Chihua Soviet Government", leaving a lot of slogans and stone carvings. On April 1935 and 10, the Red Fourth Front Army established the Soviet regime in Chihua County, Baitianba, Zhao Hua. During this period, Guangyuan Soviet Area expanded to Jiange, Zhao Hua, Qingchuan and other places, and established five county-level Soviet regimes: Pu 'an County (Jiange Old County), Jinxian County (Jiange Jinxian Town), Chihua County (Jiange Heling Town), Chihua County (Baitianba in Lizhou District) and Chishui County (Qingxi Town in Qingchuan), bringing the total number of county-level Soviet regimes in Guangyuan Soviet Area to 65433.
