Announcement on not opening the site for sacrifice and sweeping during the Cold Clothes Festival

The Cold Clothes Festival is coming in 2022. In order to avoid the imported and aggregated epidemic caused by the concentrated sacrifice and sweeping activities in the Cold Clothes Festival, and to ensure the health and life safety of the people, according to the provisions of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, the Emergency Regulations for Public Health Emergencies and other relevant laws and regulations, and the requirements of the central, provincial and municipal epidemic prevention and control departments, the matters concerning the sacrifice and sweeping in the Cold Clothes Festival are hereby announced as follows:

First, suspend the on-site sacrifice. On the day of Cold Clothes Festival, the on-site sweeping service of Yangquan Funeral Service Center was suspended.

Second, advocate online sacrifice. The general public should establish the concept of low-carbon, environmental protection, green and civilized sacrifice, and cherish the memory of their ancestors and their grief through emotional comfort such as remote flower sending, online sacrifice sweeping and family memory. Citizens can log on to the website of Yangquan Funeral Service Center and click on the online sacrifice platform of "Filial Piety Connected" for online sacrifice.

Third, strengthen leading demonstration. Party member cadres and public officials in the city should take the lead in demonstrating, and the general public should actively mobilize their relatives who are doing business, working or studying abroad not to go back to China to visit relatives and friends, and to pay homage to their ancestors. All organs, enterprises and institutions should strengthen the publicity, education, supervision and management of cadres and workers in their own units.

Fourth, hold a collective sacrifice. City Funeral Service Center will organize a collective sacrifice ceremony on the day of Cold Clothes Festival to express the grief for the deceased relatives on behalf of family members.

The results of epidemic prevention and control in our city are hard-won. The general public are requested to consciously abide by relevant laws and regulations and epidemic prevention and control requirements, give understanding, support and cooperation, suspend the on-site sweeping activities of the Cold Clothes Festival, and maintain a good social life order.
