Development history

From 65438 to 0979, the Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee carried out large-scale maintenance of Qingliu Temple, a key cultural relics protection unit in Shanxi. In order to strengthen the protection of murals in Shenglong Temple and standardize the management of cultural relics in Jishan, the Jishan County Museum was established in this temple with the approval of the Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee.

Architectural composition

Qingliu Temple, where Jishan County Museum is located, was built in the second year of Tang Longshuo (AD 662). It is high in the north, fenshui in the south, jujube forest environment and pleasant scenery. After generations of repair and reconstruction, the existing building is divided into front and back rooms, with the front yard facing south as the mountain gate and the Buddhist temple facing north with Yonggang Road leading to the Daxiong Hall in the backyard. Lifotang was rebuilt from the Yuan Dynasty to the 26th year of the Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1289), and Daxiong Hall was rebuilt from the 11th year of the Yuan Dynasty to Zheng Zheng (A.D. 135 1), all with three bays and single eaves.

Treasures in the collection

Jishan County Museum has more than 900 collections. Among them, three cultural relics, such as the gilan painted golden urn in Wang Teng Pavilion during the Kangxi period, the stone statue of Sakyamuni in the Sui Dynasty, and the hand cloth of Gandankong in the Spring and Autumn Period, are first-class products. In addition, there are 35 pieces of second-class products, including three-color sitting statues of Jigong in the late Ming Dynasty, which are exquisite in craftsmanship and vivid in expression.
