How many years can a soldier stay in the army?

Not more than thirty years. Conscripts who stay in the team after the expiration of the period are generally allowed to stay for another three years (Staff Sergeant), another three years (Staff Sergeant) and three years (Staff Sergeant's service period). Those who continue to stay in the team will be given four years in the third and fourth periods.

Legal basis: Article 19 of the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the term of active service for conscripts is two years. Article 20 stipulates that conscripts who have completed active service may be changed to non-commissioned officers on their own initiative and with the approval of units at or above the regimental level according to the needs of the army. Non-commissioned officers take active service and implement a graded service system. The term of active service for non-commissioned officers is generally not more than 30 years, and the age is not more than 55 years.
