Read The Witch

? During this time, I read The Witch by Mr. roald dahl, which has 22 chapters and tells the story of a little boy, his grandmother and a group of hateful witches. The biggest feeling in the process of reading is that it is very special, especially the characters in it are brilliant. I want to take this opportunity to talk about several characters in this book.

? First of all, let's talk about the little boy as the protagonist of the story. At the beginning of the story, the grown-up boy is telling his little readers what happened to him. When he was eight years old, his parents fell off a cliff and died. He and his grandmother were very sad, but he didn't spend all his time in Lacrimosa or his life left a shadow, like other common heroes, but he quickly pulled himself together and started his life again. From here, it is not difficult to see that he is a strong and optimistic person. Grandma told him about the witch. At first, he couldn't believe it. For those things that Grandma said, he always asked in great detail, which can be said to be the root of the matter. After listening to these words, he would still ponder in his mind, see Grandma's firm eyes, and finally believe in the existence of the witch. It shows that he has his own clear judgment ability on things. When he first met the witch, he was very scared, because it came without warning. At that time, he was the only one who stayed in the tree house and woke up to find someone staring at him. This picture was very creepy. If he were an ordinary child, he should feel quite alarmed at this time. Although he was scared in his heart, he was calm in his actions. When the witch offered to give him a gift, he began to observe the witch's appearance. Soon he came to the conclusion that this woman was a witch, and then he immediately responded-hiding in a high tree until his grandmother came out to call him, and he repeatedly confirmed it before getting off the tree. This shows his caution. He hid behind the screen and eavesdropped on the witches. Unfortunately, he was found to be a mouse, but he was not sad. I was very impressed here. Not only did he not despair of becoming a mouse, but he also quickly discovered his own advantages, and he knew that his grandmother would love him forever, so he still felt very happy. He felt that this was not such a bad thing, and it was difficult to maintain such a happy state of mind if his mind was not sufficiently transparent. Later, in order to deal with witches, he not only came up with a way to "deal with a man as he deals with you" with witches' medicine, but also succeeded in making use of his own improvisation and flexibility, which also reflected his cleverness. In a conversation between him and grandma, grandma asked him, "My baby, do you really care about being a mouse all your life?" He said, "I don't care at all. She is a knowledgeable grandmother. As a serious Norwegian, she knows all about witches. She is a king of stories, and her stories are fascinating and her little grandson's favorite. She loves her little grandson very much. She tells her little baby everything she knows about the dangers of witches. Whether he believes it or not, she will tell her everything, because she loves him. She wants her little baby to be with her and not to be taken away by witches. She is a grandmother who loves life. It's going to be summer vacation. She and her little grandson are planning their trip. Their life will be so full of energy and interest that I forget that she is a grandmother in her seventies and eighties. She is a grandmother who knows how to love. When her baby grandson turned into a mouse and came back for help, she didn't faint with fear. Of course, she was very shocked and she left tears. I guess it was because she felt sorry and sad for her grandson's unfortunate experience, but she quickly reacted and said to her grandson, "Of course I want to take care of you." Convey that she is a brave and witty grandmother. She plans how to deal with the witch with her little grandson. She is his right-hand man and helps him move around. Especially when the witch goes to the balcony and asks her those questions, she doesn't panic at all and naturally dispels the witch's doubts. She is also an adventurous grandmother. When her little grandson told her about what he saw and heard, her eyes lit up with sparks. I think she must have remembered the blood when she was young and focused on studying witches. Later, when it was over, she immediately planned a great event that they would do together-eliminate witches all over the world, and started to act non-stop. Even though she was very old, she never forgot her persistent dream.

? Then there is another hero of this novel-the witch. It can be said that the witch in this novel is really special. First of all, from the place where they live, most of the witches in the story live in seclusion in the deep mountains and forests, but these witches live beside you and me, in the most ordinary city apartments and suburban villas, and their identity is ordinary people. They may be office women you see at work, cashiers in convenience stores, or even teachers who are reading this passage to you. Let's talk about their appearance. Generally speaking, witches are people's appearance, but they are particularly enchanting or ugly. But these witches are not people at all, just dressed as women. They are bald, have claws on their fingers, have no toes, and their saliva is blue. The witch king's face is even rotten. And their purpose, the average witch does all kinds of evil, evil is a pastime for them, but no matter what kind of bad things these witches do by hook or by crook, there is only one purpose-to kill all the children in the world. Such a setting for witches in this book makes people feel that the story is very close to themselves, and that there are witches in the world they live in, which greatly enhances the realism of the story.

? Finally, let me talk about the Jenkins family. First of all, look at little Bruno. This little boy has a bad temper. He only talks about "my father" when he meets anything. His only interest is to eat hard and he doesn't even know that he has become a mouse. He also doesn't feel sad about becoming a mouse, because no matter what he becomes, he can continue to eat. His only worry is his mother who is afraid of mice and the frozen meat in the refrigerator that he may never get again. Mr. Jenkins is an unreasonable and grumpy nouveau riche. He has an obsession with his "noble position", can't stand any demands or suggestions from others, and shows no acceptance attitude towards his son who has become a mouse. He is a rather unpleasant person. Mrs. Jenkins doesn't have many chances to appear, but she is obviously a weak coward and has no respect for others. She has a low acceptance of things she has never heard of and doesn't want to hear another word from others. This family can be said to be a true portrayal of those people who rely on money for arrogance but have no culture in society.

The book "The Witch" is very graphic, interesting and attractive in plot. If Disney can make it into an animated film, it is most suitable from my point of view. Moreover, there is a very good interpretation of "love" in the book. You can feel that kind of warm affection from several conversations between the little boy and his grandmother, which is in sharp contrast with the indifference of the Jenkins family. I think everyone should read The Witch, because it will not only take you through a real and wonderful adventure, but also make you realize the most magical magic in the world, that is, love.
