Abnormal sound problem

The origin of this abnormal sound problem has been constantly changing since I came into contact with F3 for two years. From the first gear of the gearbox to the second gear, there have been some abnormal noises in the sliding with gear.

As for the reasons for the failure, it can be summarized as follows:

1. Due to some factors, such as poor fit of the meshing sleeve and individual processing of parts, the abnormal sound at the initial stage of reuse can be solved through continuous running-in.

2. Gear box bearing and gear box shell are not assembled properly.

Because the gearbox bearing and gearbox shell were not completely in place when the manufacturer assembled, the gearbox did not work smoothly in the first few uses and produced abnormal sound. In a short time, the problem can be solved by opening the gearbox and reloading it. If it is used for such a long time, it will inevitably lead to permanent geometric deformation of gears and bearings in the gearbox, which may lead to damage to the box and bearings, and spare parts need to be replaced to solve the problem. I met this problem once.

3. Due to improper operation

Specifically, the use of gear oil with incorrect label leads to permanent corrosion of some parts inside the gearbox and abnormal noise caused by the size of the frame. This kind of fault is mostly caused by the owner receiving maintenance service at the maintenance station other than BYD's designated maintenance station, and the loss is borne by the owner.

Driving problem

As an economical car with high cost performance, fuel economy is the most important evaluation index. Spiro F3 is equipped with Mitsubishi's most mature 4G 15S engine, with displacement of 1.5L respectively. The 4G 15S engine, which is famous for its economy and fuel economy, adopts the latest generation of Delphi EFI management system MT20U2, which has the characteristics of high performance, low fuel consumption and low pollution. The best economic fuel consumption is only 4.7L/ 100Km, which is really rare at this displacement level.

Some car owners found that when the car was cold, the idle speed was 1000 rpm, and it reached 850 rpm in a minute or two, which reduced the noise. Actually, this is a normal phenomenon. After the cold start, the engine ECU will learn by itself, and the rotational speed will exceed 1000rpm to detect the signals of various sensors. After about 1 minute, the idle speed will fall back to 700 ~ 800 rpm, and the idle speed is normal at this time.

Many car owners can't understand or accept this mode of operation. The high-speed shift that the author repeatedly emphasizes is to increase the fuel injection quantity and pressure through the engine without external factors, and to remove the carbon deposit when it has just formed and has not gelled, instead of manually or hanging the bottle. Although the fuel consumption has increased slightly, it is a kind of protection for the vehicle itself. The price of increasing fuel consumption is the stability of vehicle condition, which saves a lot of time and money for vehicle maintenance.

Configuration problem

The biggest selling point of F3 among competitors at the same level is high configuration, large space and low fuel consumption. High configuration refers to MP3 interface, shark fin anti-static antenna, advanced leather seat, high-quality instrument panel and imitation mahogany decoration. Maintenance problem

In the early F3 cars, the first reaction was that the four joints of the engine and the water tank leaked antifreeze. However, the solution to the problem is simple, that is, re-tighten the four water pipe buckles. Of course, I also learned what tightening torque is. The water pipe buckle will not leak antifreeze again because of insufficient torque, nor will it break due to the increase of unit pressure caused by excessive torque. Of course, these data are clearly stated in the technical manual distributed to each service station. It is necessary to ensure that the circulating speed of coolant increases under the condition of high engine speed and heavy load.

The reason for this failure is that when the engine is assembled, the sealant on the cross section of the connection part between the water pump and the engine is incomplete, the cross section of the sealant can not completely ensure the close connection between the cylinder block and the water pump, and there is no protruding fit between the machine parts and the sealant. Under some working conditions, with the increase of pump load, the port with incomplete seal is destroyed, which eventually leads to the leakage of antifreeze. In severe cases, the antifreeze quickly loses, the engine temperature rises, and finally it is damaged.

Regarding the engine, the author once counted the maintenance cases of his service station. Many owners who bought F3 in 2006 reported that there were some oil stains on the engine valve cover. In the process of maintenance, the author immediately looked at some F3 waiting for maintenance in the workshop, and they also had these problems to varying degrees.

The oil pollution reported by customers is caused by the insufficient torque of the six bolts fixing the valve cover, because the engine of 4G 18 adopts cast iron cylinder block and aluminum alloy cylinder head, but the valve cover is fixed on aluminum alloy cylinder head, and aluminum alloy is softer than cast iron, which means that the torque of these six screws should be reduced properly during assembly, because the torque of these six screws can't meet the standard requirements, or some can't meet the requirements, and some can't. The solution is also very simple, that is, according to the operation manual, tighten the six fixing bolts diagonally with a one-kilogram wrench, and the fault will be solved.
