How is the IELTS speaking test arranged?

I. Parts 1

IELTS speaking test: The examiner will give a brief introduction to the candidates and check their identity. Examiners will ask candidates a familiar topic, such as friends, hobbies or food. In order to ensure the consistency of the questions, these questions are extracted from a predetermined range.

Time: 4-5 minutes.

Examination: This part examines candidates' communicative competence by answering questions such as daily thoughts and information, common life experiences or situations.

IELTS speaking test: This part is the personal statement of the examinee. Candidates will be given a task card, pencil and note paper. The task card gives the theme and main points of the personal statement, and finally asks the candidates to explain a specific aspect of the theme.

Time: 3-4 minutes.
