In general, the rated output power of the power amplifier should be at least twice that of the speaker. Although the big horse-drawn car will cause unnecessary power waste, the small horse-drawn car will make the speaker not get enough driving force and the whole sound system will not play the best sound effect.

The second is impedance matching. The output of the power amplifier and the input impedance of the loudspeaker should also be consistent. Although there are some slight deviations between them, they will not have obvious influence on the sound quality, but only on the output power of the power amplifier.

Finally, talk about damping coefficient matching. The so-called damping is an index to measure the internal resistance of the output stage of the power amplifier for the damping of the speaker. If the damping coefficient is too high, the sound emitted by the speaker will be dry and not round; If it is low, it is easy to feel the sound sticking together.

Power reserve matching

Compared with transistor power amplifier, tube power amplifier needs different power reserve. Transistor power amplifier, the choice of power reserve should reach the standard of high-fidelity power amplifier 10 times, 6-7 times for civil high-end power amplifier, and generally 3-4 times.

The electron tube power amplifier can be much smaller than the above ratio. In addition, in order to withstand the sudden strong pulse impact in the program signal without being damaged or distorted, the nominal rated power of the selected speaker should be about three times the theoretical calculated power.
