The signal capacity of optical cable is very large, but at present, the equipment at both ends of point-to-point is relatively expensive and needs special technical means to connect. At the same time, although the optical fiber itself is thin and cheap, it is relatively fragile, and the price of optical cable formed by protective measures is still relatively high compared with that of copper cable.

So the usual practice is to point the optical fiber and copper wire to the door. After an optical fiber is connected to the distributor, it is radiated to the surrounding area of several hundred meters to several kilometers with copper wire. Some old cables may be used first, and then modified.

So optical cables and cables are everywhere, at least for now.
