Generally, large and medium-sized pile landscape materials are mainly dug from Shan Ye or purchased from the country of origin; Small pile landscape materials are cultivated artificially.

Before picking piles, we should pay attention not to violate the state regulations, obtain the consent of the relevant departments, first investigate the resources, record the distribution location and variety quantity in detail, understand the traffic situation, then organize manpower, funds and transportation tools, and prepare flower pots, land, grafting mother plants, excavation tools and packaging and handling tools in advance.

Before excavation, Chimonanthus praecox piles should be selected, and a certain number of mother plants should be reserved in the excavation area, so as to keep the natural vegetation from being destroyed as much as possible, and destructive excavation is absolutely not allowed. Special protection should be given to the beautiful trees with odd piles, clods should be used as much as possible to reduce the damage during transportation, and they should be shipped back in time, and the pots should be put immediately after preliminary pruning and shaping to improve the survival rate.

(3) Preliminary plastic surgery

The excavated wild Chimonanthus praecox piles should be preliminarily trimmed according to their own characteristics. Operators should carefully observe and ponder, and be careful about whether each branch and root will stay or not. After the plan is confirmed, mark it before starting work. The first thing to be removed are parallel branches, cross branches, reverse branches, radiation branches and overlapping branches. We should tailor our clothes to suit our needs, leaving straight bends, thin bends, thick bends, weak bends and strong bends. Pay attention to the balanced distribution of branches and strive to preserve the beauty of nature.

The basic requirements of preliminary root trimming are: leaving roots according to the type of pile stem or the size and shape of basin. The roots of Chimonanthus praecox should be preserved as much as possible; But in order to highlight the stem of the pile, all the shallow roots can be cut off. If the deep roots are seriously aged, they can all be removed and the shallow roots can be kept.

(4) Upper basin

Because the first year or two was mainly pile raising, grafting and shaping, the requirements for pots were not high, and ordinary earthen pots or old wooden boxes could be used. Prepare potted soil and add a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. If the weather is dry in spring, move the basin to a semi-shady place to keep it moist, and cover it with plastic film if necessary. Generally, after two years, the potted effect of Chimonanthus praecox appears. At this time, the fertilization concentration can be increased. The first turning of the pan should be two years later, and then every 1 ~ 2 years. The flowerpots suitable for planting Chimonanthus praecox piles are mostly dark.
