Selected couplets from the study: Comfort (2)

This lecture talks about flowers, birds, insects and fish.

Let’s first look at Mr. Lin Yutang (1895-1976):

Listen to what the birds say and ask the flowers who are laughing at them.

Mr. Lin, like Su Dongpo, saw that no one in the world was not a good person and no place in the world was not a good scene. Even if you are free to look at flowers and birds, you can still enjoy yourself. This kind of comfort makes me feel very close to Lin Gong and Po Gong.

Next, let’s look at the contemporary calligrapher and painter Mr. Sun Qifeng:

The tranquility of bamboo can be compared to that of a crane, while the fragrance of lotus can intoxicate fish.

Is "Zhujing" "Kan Juhe"? This may take some experimentation to get results. But whether "Lotus Fragrance" is "Drunken Fish" is completely a creation of the poet's imagination. If you insist on saying "You are not a fish, how can you know the joy of fish?" Then I have to say "You are not me, how can you know that I don't know the joy of fish?"

There is also a similar one circulating It is very wide: the water is clear and the fish read the moon, and the mountains are quiet and the birds chat about the sky.

"Reading the Moon" and "Chatting" are used very well here. "Reading the moon" means that the bright moon is in the sky, reflected in the water, and the fish are swimming around. I can't always figure out what the moon in the water is. It's like reading a book. If you don't understand it, you will read it again and again. "Chatting" - just watching the birds chirping non-stop, but nothing important, they must be talking about boring gossip. At the same time, "chatting" versus "reading the moon" is also a perfect match.

Some people may want to say: "A fish in the water may not be able to see the moon, right?" Then the author would like to interject: "Brother, the ancients said that 'there is nothing outside the heart', this is also imagined by literati "Don't be too serious."

The next is a collection of calligraphy by Mi Fu (1051-1107), a master of the Northern Song Dynasty:

Shui Qing Shi Chu. You can count the fish, the bamboos are dense, the flowers are deep, and the birds are chirping.

If you play with it carefully, this is also one of the phenomena of "flying kites and leaping fish" in "Standing Clouds and Still Waters" - "the dense bamboos and deep flowers", "clear water and stones emerging", and "still clouds and still waters". "quiet"; "birds singing", "fishes can be counted", "kite flying and fish leaping" means "moving".

The following is a painting by Mr. Zuo Zongtang (1812-1885):

Liang Yan speaks calmly when the day is long, and the flowers in the vase are fragrant when the wind calms them.

This couplet is written in a very quiet way. When reciting it silently, you can feel that the author's state of mind is also very comfortable.

Next, let’s look at Wang Wenzhi (1730-1802)’s painting of flowers:

The thin figure is in the window with the plum blossoms in the moonlight, and the cool clouds are all over the ground with bamboo cage smoke.

Using "cool clouds" to describe the mist that covers the green bamboo is truly a clever stroke of genius.

Not only is this couplet written in a very quiet way, but it also makes people feel as if the clouds are rising and floating in the air~~~

Then look at Liang Shanzhou ( 1723-1815) A pair of bachelor's degree:

Scanning the white clouds to see bird tracks, leisurely looking for fallen leaves to identify insects.

In this couplet, the first couplet says "man" and the second couplet says "leisure", which means having nothing to do and enjoying yourself. Being able to have a conversation out of boredom is the true skill of a literati and poet.

Wang Anshi (1021-1086), a famous Prime Minister of the Northern Song Dynasty, wrote two poems, which are similar to the one mentioned above by Liang Xueshi.

Counting the fallen flowers in detail due to sitting for a long time, it is slow to find the fragrant grass and return home late.

There is a saying in "Cai Gen Tan":

It is not suitable to be busy, but when you are busy in your leisure time, you can also be wary of laziness;

The mind cannot Release, and release after collection, can also encourage the secrets of heaven.

Wang Jinggong spent most of his life worrying about the country, the people, and helping the world. This "sitting for a long time" and "returning late" can be regarded as "putting it aside after taking photos" and "encouraging the secrets of heaven".

Finally, let’s look at Mr. He Shaoji (1799-1873):

Only when you are near the water do you know that gulls are lazy, and when you caress the pines, you often feel that cranes are in love.

This is based on "leisure" and adds "lazy".

How many people can appreciate this comfort?
