Teachers' Day (English name: Teachers' Day) is a festival aimed at affirming teachers' contribution to education. The date is 10 in September of Gregorian calendar every year.

In the modern history of China, Teachers' Day was celebrated many times on different dates. It was not until 1985 that the ninth meeting of the 6th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) passed the State Council's proposal on the establishment of Teachers' Day that it was really determined that 10 September 0985 was the first teachers' day in China. On this day, the school will award bonuses and certificates to teachers, and students will send flowers and greeting cards to teachers to express their sincere wishes and heartfelt greetings.

Before the founding of New China, there were two versions of Teachers' Day. The first time was 193 1' s version of Teachers' Day, which was organized by educators spontaneously, aiming at calling for improving teachers' treatment. The second is 1939, the version of Teachers' Day on August 27th of the lunar calendar established by the Ministry of Education of the Kuomintang government. However, the former was not recognized by the Kuomintang government, and the latter was not implemented nationwide because of war and other reasons.

193 1 year, educators Tai and Cheng Qibao contacted educators from Beijing and Shanghai, gathered at Nanjing Central University, and issued a declaration, demanding "improving teachers' treatment, ensuring teachers' work and enhancing teachers' self-cultivation", and unanimously agreed that June 6 was Teachers' Day, also known as Double Six Festivals. This Teacher's Day was not recognized by the Kuomintang government at that time, but it had a certain influence all over China.
