It is said that from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Qing Dynasty, more than 1,000 literati and calligraphers visited Yanziling Diaoyutai and left their calligraphy treasures. The most important thing in Yanziling Diaoyutai Scenic Area is cultural relics and history. For example, Mr. Yan's Ancestral Hall was rebuilt by Fan Zhongyan, and he wrote an essay "Mr. Yan's Ancestral Hall" for this purpose.

Xitai is also called Xie Aotai. It is the place where Xie Ao, a survivor of the Southern Song Dynasty, cried bitterly facing the north and paid homage to the patriotic hero Wen Tianxiang in the 26th year of Yuan Dynasty (1290).
