Xingtai Zijinshan Scenic Area is located in Qianping Village, Baian Township, Xingtai County, Hebei Province, 66 kilometers east of Xingtai City and 1.5 hours west of Xingzuo Highway. As we all know, Guo Shoujing, a great astronomer, hydraulic scientist and instrument manufacturer, worshipped the famous Liu Weishi in the Yuan Dynasty in Zijinshan as a teenager. There used to be an advanced academy here-Zijinshan Academy, where Guo Shoujing studied as a teenager. Now the site is well preserved, and later generations call it the ancient "Tsinghua University". Not long ago, the United Nations Astronomical Organization named a crater on the back of the moon and an asteroid numbered 20 12 in the solar system after Guo Shoujing. At present, there are seven pools with different shapes and similar sizes along the scenic spot of An Xia, forming a big dipper-shaped deep valley, named after Guo Shoujing found seven constellations in the sky when he was studying astronomy in Purple Mountain. The average elevation of Purple Mountain is above 1 0,300 meters, and the highest peak, Motianling, is above 1 0,747.5 meters. The average temperature here in summer is 9-65,438+0.2 degrees lower than that in the urban area.
